Custom Mapping 

You can order a world map designed to show your city right in the middle. Our cartographers can also custom produce, or adapt existing maps to your specific needs.

Cartographer Len Guelke created the Toronto-centered map, a map with his home at the center. This equidistant projection tells you exactly how far it was from anywhere on Earth to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Draw a straight line on this map from Toronto to anywhere in the world and, with some simple math, you've got the real-world distance. Keep in mind, in order to achieve this benefit, you need to sacrifice some shapes and sizes.

Len can prepare a custom equidistant map for your city and provide a unique world view just for you. The result can be in an electronic form so that you can print copies, or we can publish the map for you. For the standard option of an electronic file, Len will put your city at the center of the map. Image sized at 300 DPI for 8” x 8”. Names on all oceans, up to five countries, and up to ten cities. Concentric circles (if desired) with distances in miles or kilometers. Graticule if desired. Image provided as a PDF or editable file, per your specifications. Price: $199.00. ODT retains the copyright, and the price includes permission to reproduce up to 1,000 copies of the map. Add-on pricing at one cent per map.
